Crafts › Craft Projects | PRINT Looking for something to make from old Christmas cards? Here are some project ideas! CHRISTMAS CARD MOBILE... What you will need:
- Scissors How to make it: 1. Cut 32 Christmas shapes from the 32 cards, making sure that they are all the same size. 2. Punch holes in the tops and bottoms of each shape, making sure the holes are all in the same places on each shape. 3. Cut 4 long strings. 4. Fasten 4 cards per string by stringing each shape through the holes at the top and bottom of each card, attaching a back for each shape. (You will need 8 shapes per string.) Keep the string straight and glue the backings on right away. After each card is glued, tie a jingle bell underneath it. You will end up with 4 strings that each have 4 shapes hanging down in a row. Each shape will be followed by a jingle bell. 5. Tie the strings to the hanger or rod, and hang in a breezy place so the jingle bells will jingle! ~ Project submitted by Joyce J. (Ontario, Canada)..."May everyone making a card project enjoy it!" SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARD HANGINGS... 1. Large pictures of a subject can be cut out and the features of the picture may be decorated with almost anything depending on the kind of picture being used. OR the cards can be cut into shapes (e.g. tree, bell, etc.) and perked up with ribbons, sequins, glitter, etc. 2. For the backing, discarded light cardboard from the packing of pantyhoses, plus felt glued to it in the colour of the Christmas tree or for example - dark red, would look nice and make the tree-hanging sturdy. 3. Around the edges of the hanging, a thin gold or silver cord, or even yarn can be glued around the shape. As well instead of glueing the layers together, they can be stitched together with, for example - the blanket stitch. ~ Project submitted by Joyce J. (Ontario, Canada) |
